MEDIA RELEASE

Brainstorm Productions – one of Australia’s largest educational theatre production companies – has partnered with R U OK? to help more school students start regular, meaningful conversations with each other to improve youth wellbeing.

Brainstorm Productions currently provides a range of award-winning anti-bullying, cyber bullying and positive behaviour programs to over 350,000 school students each year. As the R U OK? at School Partner, Brainstorm Productions will promote R U OK? to further inspire students to have life-changing conversations.

“Inspiring teenagers to start conversations is what will make a real difference to suicide prevention in Australia,” R U OK? General Manger Brendan Maher said. “Our partnership with Brainstorm Productions helps us to engage and empower more students across Australia to ask one another “are you ok?” and make a difference in each other’s lives.”

Jenny Johnson, co-founder of Brainstorm Productions said, “We wanted to work with R U OK? because it’s an inspiring and hopeful message. Our partnership will help more Australian teens recognise the signs that someone might be struggling with life and how to connect with them.”

The partnership aims to inspire teenagers to be the generation that transforms the way we look out for anyone struggling with life. Students are also urged to get involved on R U OK?Day, the national day of action on Thursday 11th September 2014.
